Cocktail Recipe — Strawberry-Infused Vodka

This simple infusion results in a very fragrant and gently sweetened vodka that makes lovely cocktails. I've no idea how long this will keep because it disappears quickly.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 liter vodka

Cooking Directions

  1. Place strawberries in a clean, dry sealable container; add vodka. Seal container and store in a cool, dark area until strawberries lose their color, 3 to 4 days. Remove strawberries and strain vodka into a container.
The vodka doesn't have to be top shelf, but the quality will effect the outcome. You may wish to add a cup of sugar to round off the alcohol finish; For long-term storage I like to re-use the original bottles.
